Goodbye Corporate World - Week 3 Its all about me!
Week 3
Its all about me!
Well I had a very interesting email from Stuart saying that
he had copied his wife in as she is also studying for her Equity
Release exam and would I like someone to compare notes with. Amazing, these guys really are the gift that
just keeps giving. I haven’t even given
them my decision yet and hell yeah, I would absolutely love a study buddy. Studying for this exam has been lonely and doing
it all on your own isn’t much fun at all.
My decision! After reflection I still had a few questions,
how realistic are my expectations? I spoke to Sami who answered all my
questions with honesty. I was able to make my decision that I would trust my
instincts and go for it. I’ve left the
corporate world and am now embarking on a new adventure with a family business
with innovative ideas and fantastic values.
I really admire its ethos to lead the way for female advisors to give an
educated approach for homeowners over the 55 by focusing on advice for women
who need to explore their borrowing options. This industry needs me! I am a
woman and currently only 22% of later life advisors are female, less than 1 in 5.
Update on the running, this is not going so well this
week. We adopted a new dog, who every
time I attempt to run, is humping my leg.
I think she is a little confused and has formed a bit of an attachment
to me. I’m sure Usain Bolt doesn’t have
these problems!
Study update, I really like The Equity Release Council, they ensure Equity Release products are safe for consumers. Members uphold their principals so consumers can be reassured that they are getting advice from a qualified adviser. They have put in safe guards like the no negative equity guarantee to protect your love ones and it also gives you the reassurance that you will not leave a debt for your family. In addition to this, a condition of life time mortgages is that the mortgage is portable should you wish to move.
I have spoken to Jaye, what a lovely lady. We really are on this journey together her
exam is the day before mine. She has
given me lots of study tips which I found so helpful. Err I hadn’t even written a study plan, so far I
have read the study text twice written notes and revision cards. Not sure why I
haven’t looked at the revision cards I spent ages writing, but will be sure to
do that now that I've been reminded that I had written them. Jaye also has given me great advice on
wellbeing too. Everyone needs a Jaye in
their life. I have undertaken end of chapter tests and also done all of the
revisionmate tests. Will the exam
questions be the same? Am I getting the answers right because I understand what is driving the question or am I just learning the answers to the questions? I’ve been putting off doing my first mock
exam….. think I will do it Monday now……think I need prosecco!

Your be perfect with us ladies of a certain age and above your a wonderful trustworthy lady xx
